Die aktuellen BIOS Versionen findet man entweder auf der jeweiligen Modellseite von Gigabyte oder in der Ultimativen AM4 UEFI/BIOS/AGESA Übersicht (15.11.19).

Ich hoffe auf rege Beteiligung. Es handelt sich um einen dynamischen Informationsprozess, der diesem Eingangspost auch erweitern soll. Deshalb bitte ich um Information, wenn bestimmte Informationen bereits in diesem Eingangspost erscheinen sollen.

FAQ:
1. BIOS Nomenklatur: Bei Gigabyte kann man anhand der Versionsnummer direkt erkennen, ob es sich um ein Release oder um eine Testversion handelt. Bei letzterer endet die Versionsnummer mit einem Buchstaben. (oNyX`)

2. meine NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD geht nicht
Das Problem läßt sich im Allgemeinen dadurch beheben, daß man dem Board explizit mitteilt, daß es PCIe 3.0 zu verwenden hat. Der Eintrag nennt sich "PCI Slot Configuration) und kann manuell auf Gen1 bis Gen4 sowie Auto gestellt werden. Bitte beachtet, daß die Systemweit gilt und so z.B. auch eine 5700 unter dem eingestellten Wert läuft.

3. Meine PCIe x1 Karte geht nicht
Das ist momentan noch ein Bug im BIOS. Vereinzelt kann es auch zu Bootproblemen führen. Momentan ist der einzige Workaround, die Karte zu entfernen

4. PBO funktioniert nicht
Auch dies ist ein Bug um BIOS. Er tritt seit BIOS F10A/AGESA 1.0.0.4 auf. Das BIOS liest hierbei die Boardwerte für EDC nicht aus und deaktiviert daraufhin den PBO-Boost. Man kann dies momentan umgehen, indem man den EDC-Wert explizit auf 0 setzt. Bei den AMD-Performance -> PBO Einstelllungen muß eine EDC von Null eingetragen werden.

5. Ich habe ein CMOS Clear durchgeführt, aber es werden weiterhin die alten Settings verwendet.
Bei einem CMOS Clear sollten eigentlich alle Einstellungen auf Default zurückgesetzt werden. Das passiert auch fast komplett. Jedoch bleiben die Einstellungen im AMD-Overclocking Menübereich komplett erhalten und werden nach Start des Systems auch verwendet. Man muß dort die Werte händisch löschen!

6. Seriennummer-Nomenklatur:
Man kann anhand der Seriennummer das Produktionsdatum des Boards ermitteln. Lautet die Seriennummer am Beginn z.B. SN1928xxxxxxxx besagen die Stellen 3&4 (19) das Produktionsjahr, die Stellen 5&6 hingegen die Produktionswoche. Das Board mit obiger Seriennummer wurde alsoo in der Woche 28 des Jahres 2019 produziert.

Ich bitte dabei zu berücksichtigen, daß in Deutschland die erste Kalenderwoche unterschiedlich zu den USA ermittelt wird.

7. Wem das Sägen des CPU-Kühlers auf den Nerv geht, kann diesen an die Leine nehmen. Bei oNyX` zeigten sich folgende Werte als besonders hilfreich
1. 27% default
2. 30% 60c
3. 50% 70c
4. 75% 75c
5. 100% 80c
Diese Werte können direkt im Bios oder via SIV eingetragen werden.

8. Ich möchte hier darauf hinweisen, daß das Schreiben von Werten im Ryzen Master mit größter Vorsicht zu genießen ist. Es werden z.B. bei RAM-Werten Dinge direkt in den AGESA Bereich geschrieben, der für Mainboardhersteller gesperrt ist. Es kann und kam dabei dazu kommen, daß das Board nicht mehr lauffähig ist. Hat man bereits Werte geschrieben, kann man mit der Prozedur:
- BIOS inkl. Agesa neu flashen
- BIOS Hardware-Reset
das Board wieder in einen lauffähigen Zustand versetzen. Dies ist aber nicht garantiert. Auf OCN musstem mehrere Nutzer ihr Board trotz der Prozedur zurücksenden. Diese Warnung betrifft mWn ALLE X570 Boards.

9. AMD hat für hwInfo festgelegt, daß das Interwall zum Auslesen der Werte alle 500ms erfolgen soll. Standardmäßig sind hier 2 Sekunden parametrisiert. Ich bitte dies bei Benchmarks etc. zu berücksichtigen

10. Sollte das BIOS bei der Nutzung von Tastatur und/oder Maus ruckeln, kann man im BIOS mit dem Tastaturkürzel "Strg-Alt-F6 " die Auflösung bis zum nächsten Reboot auf den VGA Modus limitieren. Dies sollte den Eingabe-Lag beheben.

Das Problem mit den Noctua-Fans hatte ich auch.
Von insgesamt fünf Fans lief einer immer, einer manchmal und die anderen drei sind nie angelaufen.
Alle fünf Lüfter hängen an einem Phobya PWM-Verteiler (Spannungsversorgung erfolgt direkt über das Netzteil).

Laut Argus-Monitor hat das Aorus X570 Pro (die anderen X570 Gigabyte-Boards vielleicht auch, aber das weiß ich nicht) zwei Fan-Controller-Chips:
1) ITE IT8688E
2) ITE IT8792E

Der als SYS_FAN_2 bezeichnete Anschluss hängt am ersten Fan-Controller-Chip und an diesem machen die Noctuas Probleme.
SYS_FAN_4 hängt am zweiten Fan-Controller-Chip und da laufen die Noctuas so, wie sie sollen.

Zumindest bei meinem System ist das absolut nachproduzierbar.
 
ErP hatte ich schon immer eingeschaltet, brauche das USB Laden bei ausgeschalteten PC.

Muss mich hier nochmal korrigieren. Is natürlich Quatsch. Ich habe ErP ausgeschaltet, damit die USB Ports weiter mit Strom versorgt werden, damit ich meine wireless Maus laden kann.
Wenn ErP eingeschaltet ist, wird ja alles abgeschaltet bei PC-Shutdown.

Welche Einstellung wäre denn besser, in Bezug auf den Coldboot Bug? Ist dieser Parameter nicht eigentlich egal.
 
Du hast nicht zufälligerweise CSM deaktiviert, falls ja, machs an = fluessiges UI im Bios.

Das hatte ich vorher schon deaktiviert. Bisher war das UI zwar nicht schnell aber zumindest bedienbar.
Ich habe auch schon die default Einstellungen geladen mit CSM an und ErP aus, das Problem bleibt ber bestehen.
Das normale Menü ist sogar noch halbwegs mit der Tastatur bedienbar, aber wenn ich in den Smart Fan per F6 wechsle, dauert es schon 5 Sekunden bis das Menü überhaupt geöffnet wird und dort reagiert auch alles mit ca. 4 Sekunden verzögerung. Die Mausbedienung und somit das Anpassen der Lüfterkurve ist dadurch momentan unmöglich.
Hilft es das Bios noch einmal neu zu flashen?

Genau das gleiche Phänomen hatte ich kürzlich auch, nach einem CMOS-Reset läuft wieder alles flüssig.
 
Das mit dem ruckelnden/laggenden Smartfan Menu hat ich noch nicht, aber ich hab da auch noch nie die Maus benutzt... man kann die Kurve mit Shift+Pfeiltasten deutlich genauer einstellen.

Ich hab immer gemischt bedient. Für das ganze Trallala den Trackball und die Lüfterkurve mit Tastatur.
 
Danke für den Tipp mit Shift+Pfeiltaste, das kannte ich noch nicht.

Ich habe jetzt nen CMOS rest gemacht, das F11 Bios noch einmal drüber geflashed und dann die default settings geladen und alles neu konfiguriert. Bis auf das Smart Fan Menü lässt sich jetzt auch alles vernünftig bedienen. Das scheint bei mir nun aber komplett buggy zu sein, denn es ist nicht nur komplett langsam sondern beim SYS_FAN4 wird mir nun keine Lüfterkurve mehr angezeigt die ich anpassen kann. Das Diagramm ist leer und ich kann nur auf "Silent" stellen damit die Lüfter nicht direkt ausrasten...
 
Mal Sys Fan4 abgesteckt und dann versucht? Oefters davon gelesen (in Verbindung mit Noctuas) aber selbst nie gehabt.

Ich hab meine Casefans am PWM Hub vom Case und dann auf Sysfan1 spart nach Bios Shanigans Einstellungsarbeit ;)

Edit: Offtopic Empfehlung fuer nen gescheiten PWM Hub der >15w bzw >3 (am besten 6) PWM Fans zulaesst?

Interessant. Dieses Phänomen taucht auch auf meinem Asrock b450m Steel Legend auf.

Anfangs dachte ich, dass kommt von der nvme welche langsam den Geist aufgibt, aber da ist alles Paletti.
Dann dachte ich es liegt an den ssds. Aber auch hier alles Paletti.

Das wird aber beim asrock dann auch so schlimm, dass der Boot ewig braucht oder einfach hängen bleibt.

Nein, meine CPU hat keine Folie zwischen dem Kühler ;-)

Ich könnte mir nur noch vorstellen, dass es am Betrieb vom ryzen 2400g auf dem b450m liegt, lt. Asrock ist die Kombination mit aktuellem BIOS nicht empfohlen.

Aber dann würdet ihr ja nicht solche Themen haben...

Zumal es im dauerbetrieb 0 Probleme gibt.

Erklären kann ich es mir auch nicht.
Bei dem Gigabyte X570 I Aorus pro wifi dasselbe.
Beim Gigabyte x370 Gaming k7 dasselbe, aber das existiert ja nicht mehr, weil die RMA es nicht reparieren konnte.

Und es war immer sporadisch. Strom weg, Netzteil abstecken warten und dann geht es meist...

Bei nem Asrock noch nie erlebt, hab das B450M Steel Legend (aktuellstes BIOS) meiner besseren Haelfte geschenkt (in Kombi mit nem R5 2600) und bin von dem UI/BIOS eigentlich nur angetan, plain(kein Grafikbloat)/funktional(man findet alles da wo man es erwartet) und schnell (Fan Werte eintragen anstatt diese grafische Sche***) und sogar RGB Kram kann man darueber regeln. Ich wünschte mir so nen UI bei den anderen Herstellern.

Also der einzige Effekt von F10 auf F 11 ist das die Speicherlatenz mindestens um 1 ns gestiegen ist..... 62 ns auf 63 ns ...doll.....

MIT der alten F6 oder F7 lag singlecore noch 1,5 Volt an....damit boostete die CPU mit 4550 Mhz. Kurzzeitig sogar 4575 Mhz......

Jetzt sind es max 1,48 Volt und der boost ist auf max 4500 Mhz gesunken.....

Man sieht es geht gut voran..... :fresse2:

PBo bringt bei mir echt garnix...egal was ich einstelle...nicht 1 Mhz mehr weder single noch multicore.

Die Mainboard Hersteller sollten die ganzen Marketing Idioten rausfeuern und mal Leute einstellen die was können...zb. Bios technisch.....aber das wäre ja verrückt.

ich habe mir Montag das X570 Master, 3950X und 32GB Gskill Ram zugelegt und habe bislang noch das Problem das ich nicht annährend den angegebenen Boosttakt erreiche. Weder mit PBO noch mir dem auto Overclocking, Im Ryzen Master Tool bekomme ich nach Games oder Cinebench R20 maximal an die 4,4Ghz Boost. Gibt es irgendeine Einstellung im BIOS die von Standard abweicht welche dafür verantworlich sein kann?

Die maximalen Boosttaktraten (im Prinzip nur bei Single-Thread Last erreichbar) sind maßgeblich von 2 Dingen abhängig: Temperatur und Hintergrundlast/Stromfluss. Zuerst solltest du überprüfen, wie deine Hintergrundlast aussieht. HWInfo64 (Intervall bei 2sek am besten lassen) aufmachen und unter Total CPU Usage sollte bei deinem 32-Threader wenn möglich maximal 0.1-0.2% stehen. Zur Temperatur: Der Max-Boost ist von AMD bei einer Temperatur von 50°C gerated. Alle 10K Erhöhung gibts nen Malus auf den maximal erreichbaren Boost.

Die ganzen PBO Einstellungen haben für den max Boost bei ST sogut wie keinen Einfluss (dafür aber bei Multithread-Last).

Cool danke, sogar recht guenstig und AC ist defintiv vertrauenserweckeneder als die anderen Marken die ich bisher so gefunden hatte
 
Ich sehe bei den Splitty9Active vor allem den Pluspunkt, daß man eine separate Stromversorgung abseits des Mainboards hat. Damit wird das PWM Signal verstärkt und die Lüfter mit Strom versorgt. Gut ist auch, daß da ein Tachosignal an die Steuerungselektronik zurück geliefert wird. Und sie fliegen einfach problemlos.

Ich habe bei mir ein Quadro verbaut. Danach kommen eben diese drei Splitty. Auf der RGB Seite habe ich zwei farbwerk360 verbaut. Alles läuft ohne Probleme ab Systemstart. Selbst beim Systemstart leuchtet alles wie es soll. Die Profile werden direkt im Gerät gespeichert. Eine Angelegenheit, die man bei RGB Fusion nicht kennt. Das braucht immer die laufende Software.
 
Ist bei dem PWM Hub vom Define S2 auch so (Strom via Sata), PWM Signal vom Board, aber gehen halt max. 3x Fans bzw 15w, und die BQ SW3 140er sind schon 3.6w each.

Mir war oede, mal was neues :d

ErP aktiv und nicht mehr vom Strom trennen @Salgado

Hallo oNyX,
habe ich gestern abend gemacht. Heute morgen kurz den Rechner gestartet. Bootvorgang dauert gefühlt eine halbe Ewigkeit und die BIOS Settings wurden komplett zurück gesetzt.
Was ist das denn jetzt? Ist die CMOS Batterie runter?? Das Board ist kein halbes Jahr alt.
 
Es liegt nicht an der Batterie, wie gesagt der Coldbootbug nervt unglaublich, ErP kann helfen, genau wie manuelle Ram Settings aber 100% sicher ist nichts.

So hatte ich am Ende meine Settings bei dem 3600er Gskill (F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC), Rechner wurde immer via Leiste ausgeschaltet.

P.S ich weiß man kann mit F12 Screenshots machen, Handy war praktischer ;)

Hallo oNyX, erstmal danke.

Auf den Fotos sehe ich, du hast ja ErP gar nicht aktiv. Du hast es ja auch ausgeschaltet. Das war bis jetzt auch immer meine Einstellung, weil nur dann werden noch die USB Ports mit Strom versorgt, wenn der Rechner aus ist.

Bist du dir da sicher, das es dieser ominöse Coldboot Bug ist (BIOS Einstellungen vergessen)? Es sieht fast so aus, als wenn die CMOS Batterie die Grätsche macht. Ich weiß es aber letztendlich nicht.
 
Tausch sie aus, kostet paar Cent, ich wette allerdings mit dir das es nicht daran liegt, haben viele vor dir gemacht.

Wenns wirklich die Batterie waere, wuerde er das Datum/Uhrzeit vergessen, ist aber nach dem Reset nie der Fall...

a) Board bootet normal
oder
b) Bootloop bis CMOS reset/gar kein Boot (Fan auf abheulen) oder BACKUP Bios (falls auf Board vorhanden)
 
Bei mir war es b). Ich schalte ErP erstmal wieder aus. Ich habe jetzt das F12b auf dem Elite, ich überlege, ob ich wieder auf F11 zurück gehe. Ich glaube dort hatte ich nicht das Problem.
 
Mit dem F11 habe ich aktuell auch das Problem. Ist der Rechner nen paar Tage an und ich gehe ins "Bios -> FAN Steuerung" reagiert er sehr träge. Im Rest des Bios alles I.O. (ab und an minimal träge). Mache ich Strom am NT kurzfristig aus läuft alles wieder. Ab und an bootet er dann nicht mehr richtig und ich darf die Einstellungen nochmal laden. ERP ist bei mir aktiv.
