HTC Desire ->WLAN->Speedport W 700V

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for English, but my Deutsch is not enough good.

I have a problem:

My note book connected to internet via Speedport W 700 V (WLAN mode).
No problem.
When I try to connect my HTC Desire to the Internet: handy detects networks, asks me password, I entered but no connection.

What is the reason? Probably somebody knows.

Du you have the "MAC-Filterung" or "WLAN-Client-Zulassung" in the Speedport active? To check it, open a browser on your notebook, go to 191.168.2.1 -> Konfiguration starten -> Passwort is 0000 (if you didn't change it) -> Sicherheit -> "MAC-Filterung" oder "WLAN-Client-Zulassung".

(My english is probably so bad like your german... )

Ok, thanks, I will try this way. I did not change any settings in modem, all settings by default.
By the way, does it make sense to change Encryption method: WEP, WPA etc? Can it help? ...

What interesting: I have visited D-Telekom shop and asked them this question.
They have advised to run configuration and mark checkbox like this
"fuer aendere sichtbar".. I have not found this checkbox in modem configuration

In the configuration click on "Sicherheit" -> "SSID und Verschlüsselung". The checkbox "SSID unsichtbar" may not be checked. If it is checked, the SSID broadcast is switched off. But if SSID broadcast is switched off, you could not see your network on the Desire.

You could try to switch the encryption to "WPA2", not to "WPA/WPA2". Look under "Sicherheit" -> "SSID und Verschlüsselung".

If this all fails, then try to connect without encryption. But just to test it.

I use a HTC Desire with a Speedport W 920V and don't have such issues with the connection. I can connect with WPA2 without any problems.
