Für die Direktverbindung der beiden Nodes verwende ich 40G DAC-Kabel. Allerdings werde ich erst schauen, ob ich damit auch auf die 40G annähernd komme. Falls nicht werde ich umschwenken. Beim Client muss ich auf 10GBase-T Modul setzen. Dort kommt auch nur ne "kleine" Mellanox rein. Der Backup-Server soll auch 40G können. Switch steht noch nicht fest. Könnte aber der CRS326-24S+2Q+RM werden.

M.2 WiFi Karte im B760I konnte ich nicht ohne Weiteres ausbauen. Ich schau später nochmal in Ruhe.

ich habe mir ein System mit B760I AORUS PRO als Mainboard zusammengebaut. Ich würde gern das WiFi deaktivieren, habe hierfür aber keine Option im UEFI gefunden. Kann jemand aushelfen? Messwerte liefere ich nach, bin noch am optimieren.

Dass ich mit der Mellanox MCX314A-BCCT ConnectX-3 Pro nicht unter C3 komme ist normal, oder?

Messwerte würden mich sehr interessieren, da ich das MB auch in Betracht ziehe (oder direkt ein Minisforum MS-01, aber die haben ein schlechtes BIOS mit ungepatchten kritischen Schwachstellen). Was für eine CPU hast du?

Wi-Fi benötigt gemäss meinen Messungen mit einem NUC fast keinen Strom, vielleicht ist das ein kleiner Trost, sollte man es im BIOS tatsächlich nicht deaktivieren können.

Das mit der X-3 habe ich auch gelesen, habe deswegen eine X710 hier (die geht allerdings nur bis 10Gb).

Does this mean that unless a driver comes out for ASM1062 that supports it I cannot reach C states lower than C3?

@galados The board has 6 sata connectors of which two are connected to asm1062 you can move disk to remaining 4 and disable asm1062 in bios - for me all of the devices in lspci -vvv switched to the aspm enabled.

Let me know if you've reached C6 - i've same board but 14700kf and gtx 3070 and still only c3

Gibt’s irgendwo eine Hilfe/Übersicht über empfohlene BIOS-Einstellungen zum Strom sparen?

Im Speziellen:
Lenovo M720q Tiny, i3-8100T, 16GB Ram, 500GB M2, Intel i350-T4 V2

Obiges Setup läuft bei mir mit OPNSense und braucht „idle“ so um die 11,5 Watt.


Ist zwar schon ein paar Monate her – folgende Dinge habe ich damals im deaktiviert:
WLAN-Modul ausgebaut und deaktiviert
onboard-LAN deaktiviert
Ansonsten läuft das BIOS auf "Werkseinstellungen".

Hat noch jemand Tipps/Tricks?

CPU C-State Support alles auf Enabled (kein AUTO),
C-Pkg State C7 oder C8, je nachdem was maximal einstellbar ist
SATA Aggressive Power Management an

Grundsätzlich alles wichtige auf "Enabled" stellen und nie "AUTO" lassen.

Hat jemand einen Tipp für ein billiges AM4 Board um einen Ryzen 3600 möglichst effizient (Stichwort undervolting) zu betreiben?
Mir ist nicht ganz klar welche Features nun denn mit B450 oder A520 gehen. Das einzige was ich weiß das Ryzen Master wohl nicht am A520 geht weil der kein OC unterstützt.
Wichtig wäre mir auch eher Singlethread Performance. Habe da was aufgeschnappt von einzelnen Cores die schneller sind als der Rest.

Ja, ich habe im BIOS alles eingestellt, was mit dem Energiesparen zu tun hat. Alle C-States (C6, C10) aktiviert, alle APM aktiviert (nicht Auto), PCI ASPM auf L1 eingestellt, alle nicht benötigten Geräte (WAN, USB usw.) deaktiviert. Das lspci -vv | awk '/ASPM/{print $0}' RS= | grep --color -P '(^[a-z0-9:.]+|ASPM )' gibt im Proxmox-Root nichts zurück

Edit: Natürlich nicht bei allen ASrock Mainboards, aber bei vielen Sockel 1700 ASrock Mainboards fehlt die Einstellung "Lower Power S0 Idle Capability" im BIOS, die ASPM und somit bessere C-States verhindert.

Das habe ich gestern gesehen und schon gemacht. Aus diesem Grund bin ich von C3 auf C6 umgestiegen. von 29W bis 25W. aber es ist immer noch höher als das, was andere bekommen. Jetzt weiß ich nicht, warum lspci im Gegensatz zu den meisten von Ihnen hier nichts über ASPM anzeigt, also dachte ich, dass ich vielleicht noch etwas anderes aktivieren muss, was mir beim Lesen der Beiträge hier entgangen sein muss

Bei mir hat er das (mit den entsprechenden Bioseinstellungen) direkt angezeigt (nur zuerst waren einige devices "ASPM: Disabled"). Ich hatte noch ein paar Sachen zu machen um die Realtek Netzwerkkarte auf ASPM active zu bekommen. Stichwort "setpci" Kommando.

Aber dein Problem ist das Du ASPM erstmal generell angezeigt bekommst, ob da nun einige devices disabled sind oder nicht. Keine Ahnung warum das bei Dir nicht geht.

WD hat eine SSD Green Serie. Hier mal das Datenblatt. 0.8W durchschnittliche Active Power.
Die Red verbraucht minimal mehr und hält länger. Ist also nur Marketing Nonsens mit der Green.

SATA sollte es sein, aber der Tipp für die M2 ist auch hilfreich.
Hab jetzt zwei Sandisk Ultra 2TB bestellt für 139€. Hoffe die hat nicht auch ein Problem unter Linux 😳

Soweit wie ich das bei meiner Recherche gesehen habe, unterscheiden sich die SSD SATA nur marginal vom Stromverbrauch.

I have tried my M2 to 6x SATA ASM1166 Adapter on Asus Pro H610T D4-CSM. I was able to successfully enable ASPM on it but unfortunately power consumption was not as low as before (<3W).

• idle: ⚡️ 13—14W( with 1x SATA SSD connected)
  • note: before without this adapter, when SATA SSD was plugged directly into motherboard idle power consumption was only 2—3W
• no errors/warnings in dmesg
