ok, tell us why you don't like british humour :)

I like british humour because it is most times very dark and often uses puns (especially Terry Pratchett does).

"let's sleigh them!" xD

don't you like Monty Python?
-> "The Life of Brian", "Monty Python and the holy Grail" and stuff?

did you know that "spam" for a useless email is based on a sketch by monty python?

Awesome stuff, you hear?:d

The Life of Brian is great! Just incredibly hilarious, espacially Pilatus.

Good evening Gentlemen,

I'd like to join your little group to improve my english skills. But honestly I'm not very talented in grammar, so there'll be many failures in this short sentence.

:d no problem with that, "everything has to start somehwere" :d

but it's "grammar", and "there" :) their is (ihr/ihre). I'm not very good in grammar as well, so who cares? ;) I write how it sounds right to me. so I'm not the one who should correct your grammar.

additionally, you shouldn't use the apostrophe of the french guys :d use the one you get with "shift + #". it's even faster as you don't need the spacebar ;) ^^
and I don't think if failure fits the sense very well, errors should be better imho. I'd put failure more in the technical area.

hope I didn't write too much garbage, so feel free to correct me :d

You don't need the spacebar for the french apostrophe either. ;)
You don't even need the shift button but you're right, the vertical one should be used.

´ ` '

Looks like flyshit, if you ask me :p

Listen, if everyone plans on improving his English skills and is interested in politics and social affairs, the TIME magazine is a good place to start. It comes in for about 95 cent / magazine. How's that for a good deal? :)

edit: the .com version exists but redirects you to the german site... :fresse:

i just watched the episode where the guy wants a fly to toronto with a vegetarian meal, and at the end, as he's leaving i thought: didn't she forget to cough at him? it was so funny as she said: oh hang on, hang on... COUGH!

*shoots ball*
*ball hits woman*
Oh! Watch out!

"Are they running towards us or running away?"

:haha:

Well, most people here talk english pretty good. Sometimes there are spelling mistakes and wrong tenses, but remember: Nobody is perfect.

By the way......you want to fly to toronto. But you want a flight to toronto.

Thanks :)

I quitted english after 11th grade but I'll have to reselect (?) it in 13th because of some shitty rules in lower sachsony...
But this is the perfect way of not forgetting everything.

When do you normally speak or hear english in your everyday life?

I'm only hearing it watching Family Guy, Lost or some other Stuff which is not yet broadcasted here in Germany, but in the summer holidays some mates from the USA are going to visit a friend of mine and then I have to speak it as well.

oups :) silly mistake, but i didnt recognize it, even if i am aware of the difference of fly/flight. cheers

@ Elbarto -

In my lessons at the University of Düsseldorf :)

That's quite enough.

Oh - And of course while watchin' Prison Break or other english series like Flavor of Love n' stuff.

Simple question but hey, i dont wanna google right now - how do americans express "@" ? It's definitly not "äht", like we say here.
