many people forget to plug in the 8pin power connector cable that this motherboard need, have you plugged both 24 pin and 8 pin +12V connector?

Glad to ear you probably solved! I think I have solved too but I have no idea how: I thought I had solved simply changing the PCIE slot but now it seems I am stable even with the VGA back in the original slot! The things I had done since I experience no more freezes were: 1)upgrading to bios...

if your sound card give you problems throw it away out the window and use the integrated one ;) Asrock 870 Extreme has a realtek one inside, is not a monster sound card but do its job very well :wink:

x1 x2 x4 lol If you have a modern VGA (as I suppose) you really don't need a sound card you can use an HDMI audio cable to bring the video and audio signal from the VGA to the monitor

I usually have freeze not related with CPU or GPU load, in this last 48 hours half are windows normal usage (plus few hours of videogames) half are resting overnight in bios settings page (this can be considered a "bland" stress test because CPU and GPU runs at higher frequency even are not...
