I don't think that this motherboard has such a safety mechanism (I think it is called Dual Bios). From Asrock hompage (ASRock - BIOS Upgrade Instruction):

I had this idea too, but haven't tested it yet because of the x8 instead of x16. I will try another PSU tomorrow and if it doesn't solve the freezes then I will test the other PCI-E slot. Was your system stable for 48 hours only in idle or at load, e.g prime or games?
