Ubuntu 7.10 und GeForce 6600 GT

Hi Leute!

Habe mir heute Ubuntu 7.10 drauf gepackt und alles läuft soweit.

In System > Systemverwaltung > Verwaltung eingeschränkter Treiber
wird der NVIDIA Treiber als in Benutzung angeziegt.

dennoch kann ich unter
System > Einstellungen > Erscheinungsbild > Visuelle Effekte
nicht auf Normal oder Extra stellen.

Dann sagt er sofort: "Desktop effects could not be enable."

Jetzt frage ich mich wieso?! Ich wollte doch Compiz nutzen...

Wenn ich compiz im terminal starten will sagt er mit, dass xgl nicht present ist.

spart euch die mühe - ich hab den dreck wieder runter geschmissen ... keine lust auf nen betriebssystem beidem ich mit commandozeilen treiber installieren muss^^

da investiere ich lieber geld in windows.

nicht gerade eine Glanzleistung ;P

wenn du wüsstest was die Kommandozeile alles kann ;P dann würdest du Linux lieben^^


prinzipiell sollte mit Nvidia Karten Ubuntu immer funktionieren,
zumindest nach meinen Erfahrungen

bei meinem ATI-Chip bekomme ich standardmäßig auch den Fehler,
dort muss ich aber nur das Pakt xserver-xgl installieren und rebooten, dann funktionierts
also Kommandozeile öffnen und folgendes eintippen:

sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl
