I don't agree with the proposals above! One of the most optimal choices for you would be MSI S260 or S261 and it would even spare you some budget. Another interesting possibility is Amoi T30-15. The best price I know is offered here (and they also have a student discount)...

The best way to get the extended battery cheaper is to find other interested users of this notebook and and to order several batteries from uniwill.de (they have new address now which I don't remember). It was not difficult to negotiate a price reduction of about 20 euro.

Benq S73 has the same size as Benq Joybook 7000, right? Then any neopren sleeve for Apple Powerbook 15" will be suitable (it is only slighly bigger than the perfect one would be). You can get it from Gravis or from other apple shop. The cheapest option I know is that by Networx.

Sata will be probably more noisy. In the class of 5400rpm I advice Western Digital Scorpio (ATA) - very silent (21db) and reasonably fast. My second choice would be Samsung (22-24db) Hitachi are faster (the fastest) but they produce clicking sounds on a relatively silent background...
