Hi, is this the common retro project thread for all or just for it’s starters. Because I was wondering if I need a seperate thread for my upcoming builds.

So after recapping the board completely and cleaning it, it is now fully armed and operational... That means the main PCIe x16 is now working again (first time I see the board posting from it). Edit: Linked working

For those still thinking that the sound part of a DFI board does not need a recap... (It came like this)

So I cleaned the board and partially recapped it. I will probably recap the rest as well. I hope pcie 1 is working now. For the record: I don't give a thing about colors for caps on my bench boards. I just need the best caps. Edit 10-04-2026: It is fully recapped now.

Testing at 1.825v (never tested at 1.800v) for PI32M stabilty. Since I was clicking around in XP while running it seemed rock solid...

I can try PI 32M later. I probably won't be optimizing much for a test run.

I did some boot tests (no benches) on my Epox 8RDA6+ Pro with an untested 2800+XP-m (IQYHA 0431 EPBW). It seems to be great CPU: 2695MHz@1.775v (BIOS) 2750MHz@1.850v (BIOS) 2784MHz@1.900v (BIOS) 2812MHz@1.950v (BIOS) Just too bad it is worse then my Nr. 1 2800+ XP-m. That would have...

Is it not CH5 then (2.9v+)? 2.9v is often to low. Earlier this week I had to go to 3.4v+ to do 240-250MHz (that were not my best dimms but still).

What DDR voltage are you using?

I almost never bench on air or water with 1.85v or higher. Some chips degrade (like my 2600+ Tb did).

The Athlon XP 2900+ I tested is not so bad. It is an AQYHA batch and sadly locked at 10x. I was running on motherboard (8RDA6+) limits with these settings now. Boot was at 1.750v (mem at 3.60v, not my best set)
