VIA Southbridge SATA suckz !!!

Hi,

hab im Moment ein dickes Problem mit der Via Southbridge und dem SATA . Folgendes zum Problem:

Sobald man im Bios Via SATA aktiviert und in Windows hochfährt, werden die 2 sogenannten ominösen "hdc" Geräte erkannt (kein Plan was das soll). Und jedesmal beim Neustarten kommen diese 2 Geräte.

Hab schon alles probiert. Via Hyperion deeinstalliert , neu installiert. VIA SATA Treiber hin und her geschmissen. Keine Chance. Deshalb wollte ich Winxp nochmal komplett neu installieren. DENKSTE.

Ich habe meine 2 Festplatte bei direkt am SATA hängen ( über SATA -> IDE Adapter). Sporadisch werden die Festplatten beim Neustarten im Bios nicht mehr erkannt. Oder bei der Erkennung bleibt alles stehen.

Jetzt das lustige: Sobald ich die 2 Platten an den Silicon Image SATA dranhänge geht alles perfekt und ruckzuck !! Keinerlei Fehler und keine Probleme bei der Erkennung.

Ich werde mal gleich ein älteres Bios draufschmeissen. Vielleicht gehts damit besser. Eventuell könnt ihr mir weiterhelfen.

Niemand eine Idee warum die Platten sporadisch nicht erkannt werden ??

Das hdc Problem soll man angeblich durch eine Neu-Installation lösen können.

Problem gelöst bekommen? Genau das gleiche Problem habe ich im Moment auch!!

das problem liegt doch dann eindeutig an diesem S-ATA <> ATA adapter, oder?

die fuppen nicht immer einwandfrei mit den platten etc.

Alle d346bus.sys in der Registry löschen und neustarten. Danach werden die Kanäle wieder 1a eingebunden.

I have seen different solutions to this problem on various fora. I have an ASUS P4C800 motherboard and experienced the same problem after uninstalling one of my secondary IDE channels. The initial attempts to reinstall the IDE channel failed, producing the error message described in this thread.

In my case the problem turned out to be a feature in Deamon tools. More specifically, I discovered that the problem occurs when you try to install the IDE channel while d346bus.sys is loaded as a service.

If you reboot your computer and press F8 to enter Windows Safe Mode, you may recieve a message prompting you to press ESC if you do not wish to load d346bus.sys. This is a Deamon tools driver. If you choose not to load this, you should have no trouble installing the IDE channel (it will be done automatically). Deamon tools also loads a service named d346prt.sys, but this does not seem to interfere in the same way as d346bus.sys does. Re-entering Windows XP in "normal mode" causes no trouble. The problem seems only to occur during the actual installation of the IDE channel. DMA mode should also be available for the drives. Note that simply removing, or temporarily disabling, "HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows\Currentversion\Run\Deamon tools -1033" (or similar, depending on choice of language) from the registry will not do the trick. If you want to remove d346bus.sys you may edit the registry and remove the following entry:
"HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\d346bus"
Delete the entire key (appears as a "folder"). While you're at it you might as well remove the key directly below: d346prt.

You may also want to remove the duplicated keys in HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet00\Services\d346bus - where is a number usually ranging from 1 through 3, unless they are automatically removed. Search the registry for d346bus.sys and you should be good to go.

NOTE: Once you have installed the IDE channel you DO NOT need to remove or disable Deamon tools using the above described procedure. The information was only added for those you wish to do so for some reason or other...

Ich habe auch ein VIA SATA-RAID0 und auf dem Sys sind auch die Deamon Tools drauf. Welche Platten und welche SATA-Adpater werden benutzt? Mit den Maxtor Platten und den Abit seriell0 Teilen wollte der VIA nicht laufen. Habe jetzt Abit seriell2 Adapter und das rennt wie sau wie im Festplattenbenchmark Thread sieht.
